Should the Detroit Tigers remove the Comerica sign, since Comerica is pulling out of Michigan?

Mr. Illitch who owns the club, is a dedicated detroiter. He should rename the stadium Tiger Stadium. As it was. He allready owns the Redwings and Little Ceasers Pizza. A very well liked family in the Detroit area.Should the Detroit Tigers remove the Comerica sign, since Comerica is pulling out of Michigan?
I loved the name Tiger Stadium and hopefully he will change it again.Should the Detroit Tigers remove the Comerica sign, since Comerica is pulling out of Michigan?
It will most likely happen. Just like it happened in Enron field.
That would depend on if Mr. Illitch would be willing to give back Comerica's money. They paid to have the stadium naming rights.Should the Detroit Tigers remove the Comerica sign, since Comerica is pulling out of Michigan?
I doubt he'd do that. These are negotiated long term deals involving a lot of money to put a name on a ballpark or arena. The Tigers probably would rather have the money than to try to make some altruistic statement. Besides, that money from that deal probably helps land free agents like Sheff.

I go to US Cellular 20 times a year and their money helped bring in Thome. If US Cellular never had another Chicago customer, I could care less.
He will not break the contract for naming the stadium, but I feel that ballparks should have real names (Polo Grounds, Sportsman park) and not corporate names (Viagra Stadium, PepsiCo park)Should the Detroit Tigers remove the Comerica sign, since Comerica is pulling out of Michigan?
When a company buys the naming rights of a stadium, it does so for a particular period or time, specified in the contract. Removing the name from the stadium before that contract expires is a breach of contract, and would lead to a whole slew of legal trouble for Mr Illitch. He's a very good businessman, and he knows better than to go breaking contracts.
I dont know.
It was publically announced that the stadium will remain Comerica. Comerica sponsers the team, paid for the stadium, and will continue to sponser the stadium. Why change it???

He can't re-name it.

He still has to pay off that debt.

Once he pays off that debt, and the stadium is his free and clear, then he can.

and he is only "well-liked" by the rich snotty suburbanites.

You clearly have never meet his daughter, Denise!!!
