36 weeks pregnant and ate unrefridgerated cooked chicken! help! it set out for 4 hours at least?

Will this hurt the baby or me? I ate it about an hour ago and dr office is closed...I ate some ceaser dressing that set out about the same time. I feel a little sick, but normal no signs of anything wrong...what can happen and what can I do??36 weeks pregnant and ate unrefridgerated cooked chicken! help! it set out for 4 hours at least?
The only thing you have to worry about with meat sitting out for more than 2 hours is the growth of bacteria. It was cooked, which is better, but still bacteria can grow. I assume you heated it up before eating it? If so, you should be fine if it reached at least 160-180 degrees F on the inside. If you used the microwave, it should have killed any bacteria since the microwave can even deplete nutrients from food.

I wanted to add a comment to starwbr. Regarding the grocery stores with the cooked food out, have you ever noticed how they are under heavy duty lights in order to keep the food warm? It isn't the same thing as having your food sit out on the counter. The food is not even warm and needs to be reheated. That is what causes the bacteria to grow. As long as the food is hot, like at the grocery store, the bacteria will not be able to grow. It is when the food gets cold that the bacteria is able to start growing.36 weeks pregnant and ate unrefridgerated cooked chicken! help! it set out for 4 hours at least?
it was cooked? you should be fine. trust me my husband eats things like mayo that sit out all day! its disgusting but he is fine. i would not worry unless you get a fever or vomiting a lot
i think your ok...i just wouldnt do it again36 weeks pregnant and ate unrefridgerated cooked chicken! help! it set out for 4 hours at least?
I believe that food like chicken is good for four to five hours if left out, but I am not completely sure I have not read up on it for a while. Not sure about the dressing, either. But I would not get incredibly stressed over it. If you do not have any symptoms within the next few hours then do not worry, it will likely have a bad effect on you but not the baby.
Unless you get sick, I wouldn't worry. The deli's at grocery stores keep the cooked foods out for several hours at a time. You probably feel sick from worry and thinking about it. Four hours not under a heat lamp is a pretty good bit of time. Still I wouldn't worry unless you get diarrhea, severe cramps, vomit, or a fever. Food poisoning happens within the first few hours after you eat something you shouldn't. So if you haven't noticed anything by tomorrow, you will be fine.

I wouldn't do it again though.36 weeks pregnant and ate unrefridgerated cooked chicken! help! it set out for 4 hours at least?
if anything you will get food poisoning and thats no good for anyone. you should have known better than to do that esp since you know how long it was out of the fridge. if you start vomiting, keep hydrated and go see your dr in the morning.

next time dont be so stupid as to put yourself at risk.
