Question about adhd and medicine?

My little girl, who is 4 yrs. old was recently diagnose w/full blown adhd, well when i got home and read the side effects on this medicine it totally freaked me out, okay such as, this medication can cause heart failure/defects, and ceasers are also very common? c'mon people get real i would rather my daughter have the adhd and LIVE than I would to give her this medicine and something happen to her, do you know how many people are out there actually overdosing their children? I just wanted to know what other ppl thought about this, and who else is giving their children this medicine it is called focalin xr, a time release capsule to last all day, on top of all of that, it can also cause isomnia, the doctor also told me to put her on a vitamin, to help her sleep at night, so literally my child would be a walking medication/vitamin bomb, i think it's sickening, and i am not going to give it to her, she's my daughter, and yeah i took her i guess i just really didn't think she had the adhd, but reality hit me, and now, it's just truth be told this medicine is just literally saying well let me dope my child up so i don't have to deal w/them! just wanted some answers on it!Question about adhd and medicine?
These side effects are not common, they are not even rare, they are extremely unbelievably rare. In fact there is no proof that these medications cause heart failure at all.

In the past on very rare occasions a child has had heart failure while on these medications but just as many children also suffer heart failure when not on the medication. There is no proven connection, but it is the law that these warnings be given. At the low doses your daughter will be given and with the close monitoring her doctor will do, there is really no risk.

The actual common side effects are reduction of appettite, difficulty falling asleep and sometimes a little nausea. These side effects are mild and often short lived, only happening foir the first little while.

You say you would rather have your daughter ADHD and live, but with a full blown condition her life with ADHD will be very hard. Especially when she gets to school, she m,ay struggle to leanr, be in trouble aqll the time, struggle to make friends,, spend all her days being yelled at, get expelled, lose her self esteem and confidence for a lifetime.Question about adhd and medicine?
Why don't you ask her doctor? i highly recommend that you do. My little sister takes 3 differsnt medications for her Asperger's Syndrome, they have those same possible side-effects. the worst thing she's had is a tummy ache. but really, consult her doctor.
